Preparations are in full swing for the upcoming DTM season, and 2018 will see a strong combination back on track again: Augusto Farfus and the Shell BMW M4 DTM. It is the fourth consecutive year of Augusto displaying the Shell colours on the international DTM circuits. BMW Motorsport has now unveiled the new livery of his Shell BMW M4 DTM.
The car of course features the characteristic Shell logo on the bonnet, the roof and the sides. The livery, however, has been updated for the 2018 season, according to the new dynamic BMW M Motorsport design that has been implemented individually to all BMW race cars. The overarching elements of the new BMW M Motorsport design – the matt black element on the driver’s side of the bonnet and the v-shaped transition to the rear – are striking in all liveries, including the one of the Shell BMW M4 DTM.
“I am very happy to race the Shell BMW M4 DTM again this season,” Augusto said. “It is a long-term partnership and we have already enjoyed a lot of success together. Besides driving the Shell BMW M4 DTM I am also a worldwide Shell ambassador, a role that makes me very proud. For this year, the design of the livery has been modified a little bit; they added a bit more yellow and it features elements of the new BMW M Motorsport design. I really like it – the car looks fantastic and really fast so I am looking forward to another great year with Shell.”
Augusto will have the next opportunity to get behind the wheel of his new Shell BMW M4 DTM at the official ITR test day from 9th to 12th April at Hockenheim, Germany. The season opener will be held at the same venue from 4th to 6th May. As he did in 2017, Augusto will team up with BMW Team RMG this year.
