Australian adventure awaits Augusto Farfus

Just a few days after his confirmation as DTM driver for BMW in 2012, Augusto Farfus takes on the next challenge: Between 21st and 23rd October, the Brazilian will take part in the Armor All Gold Coast 600 race in Surfers Paradise, the 11th event of the Australian V8 Supercars Series. Farfus will join the Fujitsu Racing/GRM team, run by team boss Garry Rogers.

As well as Lee Holdsworth and Michael Caruso, the two regular drivers of Rogers’ team, French endurance ace Simon Pagenaud will race alongside Farfus in the famous event on the Pacific coast. For the Armor All Gold Coast 600, a host of international drivers, among them Farfus’ fellow BMW drivers Andy Priaulx, Dirk Müller and Joey Hand, will support the regular V8 Supercars competitors in their fight for the championship.

“I’m really happy that BMW Motorsport has allowed me to race in this unique event,” said Farfus. “I have heard a lot of positive things about Surfers Paradise, and I think it will be an amazing show. It will be great working with Garry Rogers and the other drivers. Although it’s a one-off event for us, the international drivers, we want to push hard to help our teams to score a lot of championship points. I’m really looking forward to this adventure. It will be my first race down under.
